This Great Lumpy Stew
There are few, if any, contemporary American problems which cannot be attributed to ignorance. Our politicians even play to that ignorance, electing not to lose a single vote rather than seek and speak the truth.
We are called a melting pot and proclaim that it is our diversity which has made us strong. In truth our Protestant Christian founders laid a firm foundation for a great country but even our sacred Constitution, their blueprint, is assailed.
Few can even acknowledge that all cultures are not compatible. Often has Mainstreet proclaimed the first rule, When in Rome..., but we will now switch to a different cultural interpretation of the same rule: Faisels Tent, Faisels Rules. Thus are Muslims advised to abide by local customs. But not here; not for the uneducated. Multitudes appear to believe we must accommodate every belief, custom, to the exclusion of Christian American.
We cite the immigrant words on the French gift, the give me your tired, etc. on the Statue of Liberty rather than even acknowledge our Founders desire to be very selective of immigrants. Seventeenth and eighteen century American leaders were shocked to find the sexually promiscuous (known as incontinent at the time), adulterers, buggers and other sodomites in their mist, intermingled with bone idle, work shy, and even dishonest persons, willing to be dependent. Thus they advised newcomers not to import those sorts as servants, assuming that the employers themselves were not of perverse morals (read Bradford on this).
Look at us today! Single moms are pitied; junkies and alcoholics poor victims entitled to taxpayers funds for rehab; social diseases must be eliminated as inconvenient. No, no! We must not seek to inhibit any behaviors, consider them electives.
By the standards of our founders, families are forever, Thus men and women choosing to produce issue out of wedlock or divide the family by divorce should really pay taxes as bonds on children apt to become nuisances.
Citizens taxpayers must be enabled to choose their charities and these may or may not be junkies or those with social diseases.
Persons wearing head scarves and veils must at least acknowledge their behavior to be not religious but antisocial in this Protestant Christian country. If we are to have icons, they must be of high moral character as defined by our founders. Imagine a recent anti-Christian moral anarchist of a Governor whose consorting with prostitutes was found shocking. His endorsement of human sacrifice (abortion), and mocking of Christian marriage was not shocking! Mainstreet considers the prostitute association perhaps a stumble but the anti Christian moral anarchy a major fall from grace. That governor was a lump in our stew, one of many.
