Is there a Christian
in the House,
in the Senate,
in the White House,
anywhere??
For many years we felt great admiration for Hanan Ashwari, a Christian Palestinian woman who represented to us the Christian Palestinian point of view. She eventually did retire from public office. Now her daughter, or one of her daughters, born in Jerusalem, is not allowed to return to her homeland because she has a U.S. green card.
Then we read of innumerable Christians who can remain in their country of thousands of years of heritage, earn a living and thus achieve self respect through self reliance only if they agree to inform on their fellow Palestinians.
Today the BBC published a most excellent piece on Living in Jerusalems Old City. We recommend that any of our elected who are not so totally preoccupied with politics they are frozen in action should read this piece and inform themselves. Ask themselves have we, a Christian nation, done the right thing for our co-religionists about the world.
We voted for our current president because we felt it essential that we have strict Constitutionalist on our Supreme Court as opposed to judicial oligarchs, AND because he promised justice for the Palestinians.
We are pleased with the former but much disappointed in the later
commitment.
