That Call

Lucky us if the day arrives when one can escape all the offenses on television, most recently political and especially a scene in which children are sleeping peacefully and a red telephone is ringing in the White House.

Be afraid! be very afraid! What if Senator Obama were answering that telephone? What if Senator McCain were the respondent? What horrible things could happen! Who could possibly deal with this other than Sen. Hillary Rodham (Mrs. William Jefferson) Clinton?

Actually, the country does have/has had experience of attempts to reach Mrs. Clinton and her response : she went to ground.

Mostly forgotten in the muck and mire of today’s news, there was the episode of a mentally ill person seeking help at one of Mrs. Clinton’s campaign offices. He had wanted to ask Mrs. Clinton for assistance in getting medical attention for his condition.

Although Mrs. Clinton was mega miles away, in the Washington, D.C. area and had many scheduled events in the D.C. area, she disappeared until the potential threat was apprehended.She, whose husband jumped from the Thanksgiving turkey, had not the courage to speak with mentally ill unfortunate.

What would Sen. Obama have done? What would Sen. McCain have done. We would wager that both would have actually taken the call.

We do know one person in our state who intends to vote for Mrs. Clinton. That voter is dedicated to Women’s Lib as is Mrs. Clinton . Women’s lib no matter the culture appears to be the Clinton agenda for the world. We know of another Pennsylvanian who is backing Mrs. Clinton, that is our Governor. We knew one man in our borough who was headed in that direction, but is now committed to Sen. Obama.
