MY first Muslim post was Turkey and I love it still.
Among the many charms were the sounds of the calls to prayer five times a day from many ancient mosques. I can still experience a thrill thinking back to sitting on the terrace of a small hotel, enjoying a raki and hearing what I came to label ‘’WHAHKBAA” from the adjoining mosque.
Other Muslim posts included India (monstly Hindu but with a very large Muslim population), Indonesia (labeled Muslim but that is but a thin veneer on the top of centuries of animism and other/all beliefs.) . We were in Indonesia in the Year of Living Dangerously when state sponsored terrorism became the mode: the Brits had offended Indonesia in their policy toward Irian Bharat and thus all Brits were rounded up, their possessions burned before them (diplomats included, of course), and their embassy invaded...one key saved one safe. All watched from across the street, sipping lemonade at the newly build Hotel Indonesia.

On to Sudan, and Egypt. We found the Sudanese most charming and hospitable, Egyptians most offensive although, of course, not all.

We enjoyed hearing Whahkbaas in all those posts, when we did.

Never, however, did we imagine hearing it blasted over the graves of our ancestors and dear friends in New York. We would prefer that the Bogardus Farm be restored, the church rebuilt, that New Yorkers young and old be made acquainted with the history of this area, the Dutch-American history. We note that none of those who wish to have a megamosque built in that area are of deep routed American ancestry. Surely those of the 13th and 14th generation should be heard.

Surely we should also get out the message of our city on the hill. Surely we should consider the diplomacy of it all. How many churches are there in Jidda, Mecca, Medina?

Adieu our Beloved Country

Unless our Christian population is ready to take immediate steps to escape the Communist Zionist fate which Henry Ford predicted and into which we have rather rapidly fallen, we are finished- a tiny flash across the horizon of time.
We have a great destroyer, burdened with questionably gotten gain, determined that our children and grandchildren will hear no whisper of this country’s Christian founding: George Soros who would/will eliminate U.S. history from our academic studies.
We have otherwise respectable once thinkers and writers who have so fallen for the Zionist line they have not bothered to read the history up to 1948, to even consider the UN resolutions after extensive interviews with Palestinians driven from their homes, farms, vineyards by sten guns and sound trucks. No more do they know of the many beautiful sites in Africa offered said Zionists (and which they could still acquire as colonies). Hear it from George Will, Cal Thomas,
We have politicians of such great puffery they cannot imagine other opinions or knowledge should be allowed: see Mayor Bloomberg et al who believe freedom of religion should be practiced here but not be reciprocal. Mainstreet has lived in the Muslim world; neither Bloomberg, our president nor any other proponents of a mega mosque at ground zero have ever lived in the Muslim world nor on Main Street. Our founders and framers degreed we should not have a state church but rather freedom to worship God in our own way. But we also have an obligation to the Christian world for our founding and we have to occasionally consider consequences of our actions, reciprocity even: one mosque in New york for every commensurate sized church in Jidda. Our choice for ground Zero would be a resurrection of the farm of Everardus Bogardus to teach history and inner city farming at the same time. That land belongs to us, the disenfranchised descendants of the Bogardus line.,

Then we have the mad-for-Sodom lot. This is not the will of the people, it is not the will of God but the will of well compensated politicians and tragically dysfunctional individuals.
As for destroying ourselves with criminal immigrants...well, another day.

Perceptions in Black and White

Our President’s wife has recently pulled off the most spectacular gaffe in the short history of our country. In a time of serious economic problems, she took off on a dream vacation to Spain, evidently inviting herself to visit Spain’s royals (from whom she got, what else, noblesse oblige) while inspiring outrage at home.
We have seen this before. It is a cultural variation.
While in Kenya Mme. Main learned that people who rob others in the street are criminals and should be executed whereas the Big Men are entitled to their fair share of all.
A friend confided that when she and her government official husband traveled abroad she had embarrassed him by not spending as much as the other wives.
Then the all black Carter team came to our post: ambassador, AID - all. Mme Main first noticed this when they all teed off ahead of her in the early morning at Muthaiga golf. Their wives all indulged themselves in the most extravagant furnishings to the point that one was summoned before Congress upon return to the States and asked re her gold faucets and so forth.
It was and is Mme. Main’s conviction that these women did what they imagined their white predecessors had done in the same positions.
This might be Mme O’s mistake. Perhaps the job should come with a manual.

Histrionics in the House

Yesterday the world witnessed a display of the worst possible behavior by one of our elected. He screamed, shouted and carried on with a remarkable lack of good manners, upbringing or the smallest trace of civility. It was, of course, a show for those who admire this sort of thing.
Main Street does not and is heartbroken that such persons represent anyone in this country.
Quand meme, the topic was payment for the 9/11 first responders, their wives and children. This topic very much ties in with other current affairs since the distributor of 9/11 money is at it again, distributing to the victims of the Great Oil Spill.
Let us get a list of the 9/11 beneficiaries and attempt to ascertain how that money was distributed: we read of widows remarried before distribution, paramours who were not U.S. citizens (possibly illegals) and assorted others. The distribution was done more in the style of gathering tribal elders than Americans, compassionate but level headed Americans.

Getting to Know Us

Little wonder the world is all confused about us. They know us not, neither families nor caste.
Let us examine presidential weddings.
One upcoming is the five million dollar wedding of the Clintons’ only child; one in the recent past was that of one of the Bush girls.

The Bushees are American aristocrats (although we did not appreciate the smirking, stalking bull dyke on the reviewing stand during the second inaugural-that was bad form). Their daughter’s wedding was at home, tiny guest list, unattended by media, and in Texas and aristocratic style.

A five million dollar send off in these times gives the world a family of SNOBs (sine nobiite).
